Introducing Pump-E: The World's First ECMO Pump Simulator for Perfusion Training

Date: 26th November 2025

Today marks a proud milestone for The Simulator Company as we unveil Pump-E: a breakthrough that will transform how clinicians learn, practise, and master ECMO.

For years, ECMO training has faced the same challenge: realistic pump practice required full clinical systems, bulky hardware, expensive disposables, and complex logistics. Access to hands-on pump training has always been limited, especially for centres without dedicated ECMO equipment.

We believed there had to be a better way.

And now, there is.

A New Era of ECMO Pump Training

Pump-E is the world's first ECMO Pump Simulator designed specifically for perfusion training: a compact, portable, disposable-free system that recreates the full behaviour and experience of an actual ECMO pump.

Everything about Pump-E has been engineered with purpose: to make ECMO pump training more accessible, more realistic, and more effective for clinicians everywhere.

At just 3 kg, Pump-E can be carried in a backpack, set up in seconds, and used anywhere: from simulation centres to workshops, classrooms, skills labs, and international training events.

Yet despite its portability, Pump-E houses all the electronics, controls, and dynamics that define a true ECMO pump.

What Sets Pump-E Apart

1. Complete ECMO Pump Functionality · No Disposables Required

Pump-E offers the same controls, responses, behaviours, and interface logic as a real ECMO pump.

No consumables. No waste. Unlimited practice.

2. Fully Integrated Electronics

All modules and sensors are contained inside one compact body. No external boxes or complicated wiring.

3. Ultra-Portable at 3 kg

Perfect for mobile training and large-scale education programmes.

4. Modular Compatibility for Every Training Scenario

Pump-E integrates seamlessly with simulators, wet labs, perfusion courses, and ECMO training environments.

Why Pump-E Matters

ECMO is expanding rapidly across the world, but access to pump training has not kept pace. Many centres struggle with limited equipment, high consumable costs, and logistical barriers that prevent frequent and consistent practice.

Pump-E removes these obstacles entirely.

It allows trainees to practise pump handling, flow adjustments, alarm management, troubleshooting, and ECMO dynamics, without relying on hospital systems or patient-use equipment. This means more training, lower cost, and greater confidence for clinicians.

Above all, Pump-E reflects our mission:

To empower ECMO teams with training tools that make a genuine difference in patient care.

A Message from Our Founder and Inventor

"This product represents years of engineering, clinical experience, and unwavering belief that ECMO training should be accessible to everyone. Pump-E is compact, elegant, and powerful, built to give clinicians the realistic pump experience they've always needed but never had access to.

I'm proud of what our team has achieved, and even more excited for how Pump-E will help shape the future of perfusion education."

— Sagar Haval, Founder & CEO
