Job description

We are seeking a Medical Molding and Casting Technician with expertise in life casting, mould making, and animatronics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating highly detailed, life-like anatomical molds for medical simulations and integrating animatronic technologies for advanced functionality.

Main Duties:

  • Mould Making & Life Casting:

  • Create accurate and high-quality molds of human anatomical features, including life casting using silicone, plaster, and other medical-grade materials.

  • Work with 3D scanning and printing technologies to develop precise anatomical models based on real-life data.

  • Design, develop, and maintain detailed moulds that replicate human tissues, organs, and body structures.

  • Prototyping & Product Development:

  • Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to develop new prototypes for medical simulation models.

  • Ensure that cast models are anatomically correct and adhere to stringent medical standards.

  • Research innovative materials and techniques to improve model durability, functionality, and realism.

  • Integration of Animatronics:

  • Collaborate with electronics engineers to incorporate animatronic elements into models, simulating real-life functions such as breathing, heartbeat, and movement.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain animatronic systems to ensure smooth performance during simulations.

  • Assist in the design of internal mechanical structures that support animatronic functions.

  • Material Handling & Safety:

  • Work with medical-grade materials, ensuring safety protocols and industry standards are followed.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company safety regulations.

  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in mold making, life casting, or a similar role in a technical or medical setting.

  • Knowledge of animatronics and mechanical systems, especially human-like movement and medical simulation.

  • Proficiency in handling medical-grade casting materials (e.g., silicone, alginate, plaster) and tools.

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, scanning, and printing technologies.

  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce anatomically accurate models.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, coordinating with engineers, designers, and production teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially when working with animatronic components and ensuring they integrate seamlessly into medical models.

  • Ability to follow strict safety and material handling procedures.
