The people best placed to say whether an ECMO simulator earns its place are the clinicians running the programme it sits in. Over the past two years we have filmed them: ECMO directors, consultant intensivists, paediatric cardiac anaesthetists, ECLS educators, nursing managers and principal perfusionists, at hospitals across the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

We did not script them and we have not cut them down. Each of those interviews runs in full below, between five and twelve minutes, because a clinician explaining what changed in their unit is more use to you than a thirty-second clip of them saying something complimentary. The Voices from the Floor films that open the list are shorter, a minute or two each, for anyone who wants the gist first.
